Chapter 7Bogur.1.7

Strofa 7

The Final Petition

The prayer concludes with a plea for eternal communion with Christ in the joy of the heavenly host.

Bring us there too, dear Jesus Christ, so we may be with you where all the heavenly powers rejoice for us.1

Read the original Latin

Tegoż nas domieściż, Jezu Kryste miły, Bychom z tobą byli, Gdzie sie nam radują szwe niebieskie siły.

Scripture echoes

  1. Luke.15.7;John.14.3I tell you, there will be joy in heaven over one sinner who repents more than over ninety-nine righteous persons who have no need of repentance. John.14.3 — And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that where I am, you also may be.

Notes

  1. 1Tegoż points back to the place named in the previous stanza (where the angels reign). Domieściż is the same petition-verb as Domieściż in Bogur.1.6.1.s2. Szwe is archaic for wsze, ‘all’. Sie nam radują may mean ‘rejoice for us’ or ‘rejoice to our joy’; ‘for us’ keeps the dative force without over-specifying.

  • Three daily prayer moments scheduled around your real calendar, not a monastery's
  • Psalms and historic prayers sequenced for you — no page-flipping or decision fatigue
  • A visible streak of completed offices, so the rhythm compounds instead of collapsing
