Article XVII
The Promise of Redemption
God graciously pursues fallen humanity with the promise of a Savior to crush the serpent and restore the blessed state.
We believe that our good God, in his wonderful wisdom and goodness, saw that humanity had plunged itself into both physical and spiritual death and had become utterly miserable. So he himself went looking for humanity as it fled from him trembling, and he comforted it with the promise that he would give his Son, born of a woman, to crush the serpent’s head and make humanity blessed.
