Christ as Mediator

Between you and me. Christ, our High Priest, the Lamb, the Sacrifice. Between Satan and me. Christ, the King, the Lion, the Triumph. Between sin and me. The innocence of Christ in His life. Between the punishment of sins and me. The satisfaction, passion, and blood of Christ. Between the lack of justice and me. The righteousness of Christ, absolute obedience. Between the defect and the reward for me. The merit of Christ. Lord, in the midst of the pain caused by my sins, I turn to you. The tears and sweat of Christ. Even when I lack fervor in my prayer, I turn to You. Through the intercession of Christ. When I face accusations from Satan or my own conscience, I turn to you. Christ, our Advocate. Between desire and me, I show, offer, and remember the love of Christ. Accept this, Lord, for your sake. Christ himself. Amen.
Confession and Compunction
A prayer of honest confession, refusing to hide or excuse sin, while seeking the grace to judge oneself rightly.
I have sinned, O Lord! But I don't hide my sin. But I don't excuse myself. But I admit it freely. But I reflect on the bitterness of my soul. But I hate myself for my sins against you: grant me grace, so that I may judge and avenge; so that I don't leave this miserable life without pardon. Amen.
Appealing to Divine Mercy
The soul acknowledges its frailty and the gravity of its sins, yet finds hope in the superior power of the Savior's mercy.
O Lord, I haven't just sinned; I've also provoked you with many grievous sins. Yet, I beg you to remember that I am only flesh—a mere breath that passes and doesn't return. And the mercy of the Savior can do more for salvation than the wickedness of my sin can do for my destruction. Amen.
Prayer for a Holy Death
A final petition for grace to accept death with the same spirit as Christ, asking for mercy at the hour of departure.
Lord Jesus, you had no reason to die, yet you died for me. I have my reasons; grant me grace so that I won't refuse to die, and that I may be ready. Amen. O Lord Jesus, because of that bitterness you endured for me, the most miserable, on the Cross; especially at that hour when your most noble soul departed from your blessed body, I beg you to have mercy on my soul at its departure, and lead it into eternal life. Amen.
