PROSPERA.

A Prayer for Integrity

A plea for protection against presumptuous sins and a request for innocence.

Lord, this is a time of fear; keep your servant safe from presumptuous sins, so they don't gain dominion over me. Even though my sins are many and great, may I remain innocent of the great offense, for the sake of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Service and Stewardship

A petition for wisdom and faithfulness in one's vocation within the Church.

O Lord, make me worthy of the position to which you have raised me in your Church, so that all my efforts may be directed toward bringing Truth and Peace together. In this journey, give me the understanding to recognize my enemies and the wisdom to prevent them; give me a heart to love my friends and the ability to bind them together. Lord, help me to love your Church and the place where your honor dwells; that as you have honored me above many others, I may honor you above all, and spend whatever is acceptable in the remaining days of my life to serve you in your Church, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Turning from Vanity

A brief prayer for spiritual focus and renewal.

O Lord, turn my eyes away from looking at vanity, and revive me in your way. Amen.

Humility in Prosperity

A request for grace to remain humble and grateful amidst worldly abundance.

O merciful Lord, when I am moved to pray to you (for we never live in such a way that we deserve to pray), grant us peaceful days, abundant harvests, and rich tranquility in all good things, and give us an abundance beyond our growing desires, so that you do not allow me to be corrupted by such prosperity of worldly things, nor let me forget you completely and myself; but increase my humility and gratitude, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

In this course give me understanding to discover my enemies, and wisdom to prevent them: A heart to love my friends, and carriage that may bind them. Lord, make me love thy Church, and the place where thine honour dwelleth; that as thou hast honoured me above many others, so I may honour thee above all, and spend whatsoever is acceptable in the poor remainder of my life to serve thee in thy Church, through Iesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O Lord, turn away mine eyes that they behold not vanity, and quicken thou me in thy way. Amen.

O Domine misericors, quando a te ipse exoratus, (nec enim unquam ita vivimus, ut exorare mereamur,) pacificos nobis dies, proventus uberes, divitem bonis omnibus tranquillitatem, & abundantiam dederis super vota crescentem, ne sinas me tanta secundarum rerum prosperitate corrumpi, ne & tui penitus obliviscar & mei: sed humilitatem & gratitudinem adauge, per Jesum Christum Dominum nostrum. Amen.
