A Prayer for Eternal Communion
The author invites the faithful to pray for the grace of eternal union with God.
Now let all the seers pray to our beloved Lord in true love for everyone who writes these verses for our confession, and for everyone who reads or hears them: that they may be received into the kingdom above, where the whole company will praise God eternally without end. May we attain that grace, and may we also be raised high; may Jesus, the Son of God, help us, so that we may together with Him, before our heavenly Father, crown ourselves.
The Vision of Heavenly Joy
A poetic description of the eternal life, service, and love that awaits the faithful in the presence of God.
There is a true life there, And always the worthy will serve, And God will have to be praised. There the beloved eyes shine, And noble voices ring The glorious throne, Where we will rejoice, In love we will pass away: Our dearest appearance is so beautiful. There we will glorify, And always rejoice: We are free and joyful there. With God we will reign, And He will ordain us, Whoever is in His throne. Then we will serve our beloved, and He will give us Himself, and we will dwell in Him. If we love our neighbors, then we will find His grace, and His will will be fulfilled.
The Call to Divine Obedience
A concluding exhortation to keep God's commandments and seek satisfaction in His love, sealed with an Amen.
Now let's keep His command, for He is the true God in the Trinity of persons. With righteous souls, we love Him, whom we know to be so noble and almighty in His deeds. He is worthy of all praise; He is the one we desire. May He come to us, that we may know such sweet love, that we may be satisfied in our hunger, and always find Him in our use. Let it be spoken; let it be done. Amen.
The Mirror Concluded
A final declaration identifying the text as the mirror of eternal salvation.
This is the explicit mirror of eternal salvation.
