Psalm 3
The Cry of the Oppressed
The psalmist laments the overwhelming number of enemies and seeks refuge in God's grace.
O Lord, how many enemies I have! They rise against me, fierce and bold. Many say of my soul, “God has abandoned him.” But Lord, you're always my helper, the one who rescues me and fills me with joy. You alone are my glory. You've lifted up my head; cleanse me from every sin.✦ I cried out to my Lord, and he heard my voice in my distress from his holy mountain, solely through his grace.
Resting in God's Protection
The psalmist finds peace in God's sustaining presence, even when surrounded by threats.
I lay down and slept, and I woke up; I tasted the goodness of God, who upheld me. So I will rejoice as I sing of his grace. Even if a hundred thousand men surrounded me and came against me, I wouldn't be afraid of them. My Lord, my God, my Creator, rise up and deliver me from distress.
Victory and Blessing
God is acknowledged as the ultimate judge of enemies and the source of salvation for his people.
For you have struck down my enemies, who persecuted me without cause. You have shattered their fierce teeth to pieces, O great God of Israel. All salvation comes from God; you have prepared it for everyone who turns to you. Lord, you will bless your people who put their hope in you.

- Psalms and historic prayers sequenced for you — no page-flipping or decision fatigue
- A visible streak of completed offices, so the rhythm compounds instead of collapsing
