Regula, caput V

The Order of the Office

Christ establishes the daily recitation of the Virgin Mary's Hours with three readings on all days.

Christ established here how the nuns are to begin the divine office, having first asked forgiveness in choir every day, and how they are to finish the office, and that the office of the Virgin is to be said every day, on ordinary days as well as on feast days. Every day, in honor of my Mother, the Virgin Mary, the sisters will solemnly sing her Hours with three readings, on both feast days and ordinary days.

Forgiveness Before Vespers

The sisters must ask mutual forgiveness in choir before proceeding to Vespers each evening.

Also, every day when the signal is given for Vespers, the sisters will gather together, and first the right choir will read one 'Hail Mary,' and then, bowing deeply to the other choir, will say: 'Forgive us, for the sake of God and his most loving Mother Mary, if we have offended you by word or deed, by sign or gesture; for our part, if there is any fault you hold against us, we most willingly forgive you.' And with the other choir likewise bowing and reading and asking for pardon, they will then proceed to Vespers in this way.

Marian Prayers at the Hours

At the end of the Hours, the sisters sing the Hail Mary antiphon and a collect seeking purity, mercy for souls, and protection from danger.

At the end of all the Hours, they will sing the antiphon 'Hail Mary' with the collect, in this form: 'Almighty and everlasting God, who deigned to be born of the most pure Virgin for our sake, grant, we beseech you, that we may serve you with a pure body and please you with a humble mind.' Another prayer to the Virgin: 'We beseech you also, most loving Virgin Mary, Queen of the world and of the angels, that you may obtain refreshment for those whom the purgatorial fire examines, pardon for sinners, and perseverance in goodness for the righteous.' Defend us also, who are frail, from the dangers that press upon us! Through Christ, our Lord.

The Saturday Salve Regina

The sisters sing the Mass of the Virgin daily and add the Salve Regina every Saturday.

On all feast days and ordinary days as well, the Mass of my Mother will be sung by the sisters, and every Saturday after the Mass of my Mother, the sisters will sing 'Hail, Holy Queen.'
