Regula, caput III
Christ's Decree on Nuns' Bedding
Christ himself determines the kind of beds and bedding the nuns are to have.
Christ himself decides here what kind of beds and bedding the nuns are to have.
The Straw Bedding Prescribed
The nuns' beds are to be made of straw, with coarse-cloth bolsters, quilts, a cloth-covered cushion, and a cloth-covered pillow.
It should be understood, however, that the regular beds are to be made of straw. Over them they are to have two bolsters made of coarse cloth, without linen, and quilts. Under the head there is to be a cushion covered with cloth, and similarly a pillow covered with cloth.
