Preces Quotidianae
Adoration of the Triune God
The soul adores and blesses the Godhead, Unity, and Trinity with heartfelt affection.
Godhead, Divinity, Unity, Trinity: I adore You, I call upon You; with all the affection of my heart I bless You now and forever.1
Intercession for All
The prayer asks mercy for the living, rest for the dead, peace for the Church, and pardon for sinners.
You who rule both the living and the dead—those of us still held in the flesh by this present age, and those whom the age to come has already received, stripped of the body—grant mercy and grace to the living, and rest and perpetual light to the dead; grant truth and peace to the Church,✦23 To us sinners, repentance and pardon.4
Prayer Before a Journey
A traveler asks for God's guidance, protection, and presence, recalling biblical examples and renouncing evil.
Prayer of someone about to set out on a journey. Make my way successful today. If you aren't going with me, don't lead me up from here. You who guided Abraham's servants by an angel, and the Magi's journey by a star; you who kept Peter when he was floundering and Paul when he was shipwrecked: be with me, Lord, and direct my path. Escort me, lead me out, and bring me home. Let God arise, and let his enemies be scattered. Get away from me, you wicked ones; I will search out the commandments of my God.

Scripture echoes
- ↩Rom.14.9 — For to this end Christ died and lived again, so that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.
Notes
- 1 ↩Normalized reading treats source szecula as saecula (ages / forever).
- 2 ↩Normalized readings: presens → praesens; szculum → saeculum; Ecclesixz → Ecclesiae.
- 3 ↩futurum is taken as the future age/world, in parallel with praesens saeculum; the relative clauses identify the living and the dead as both belonging to God.
- 4 ↩Continues the previous section’s repeated Da (‘Give…’) petitions; poenitentiam rendered as ‘repentance’ (interior turning), not sacramental penance; veniam as ‘pardon’ rather than mere excuse.
