Preces Quotidianae
Anamnesis and Eucharistic Petition
Remembering Christ's saving work, we ask to be united to His Body and Blood and become a temple of the Holy Spirit.
So we too, Lord, as we stand before Your Sacrament, remember the saving Passion of Your Christ, the life-giving Cross, the most precious Death, the three-day Burial, and the Resurrection from✦1 the dead, the Ascension into heaven, the Sitting at the right hand of God the Father, and the glorious and fearful Coming. We ask You, Lord, that receiving a share of Your Sacraments with the pure witness of our conscience, we may be united to the holy Body and Blood of Your Christ; and receiving those things worthily, may we have Christ dwelling in our hearts, and become a temple of Your Holy Spirit.✦✦23
Prayer for Worthy Reception
A brief plea that none be made guilty or weak through unworthy reception of the holy Sacraments.
Also, O our God!4 Do not make any of us guilty of these awe-inspiring and heavenly Sacraments, nor weak in soul or body, because of unworthy reception of them.✦5

Do this in remembrance of me.' 1Cor.11.25 — In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. - ↩Eph.3.17 — that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith
- ↩1Cor.6.19 — Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? And you are not your own,

- 2 ↩Corrected Conscientiz→Conscientiae and Spintus→Spiritus. Trailing '11.' treated as print/section marker, not prayer text.

- 4 ↩'Etiam' taken as additive intensifier introducing the further petition ('Also'); could also be heard as affirmative 'Yes'.
- 5 ↩'reum facias horum ... Sacramentorum' rendered as 'make ... guilty of these ... Sacraments' (liable through unworthy reception), following the Pauline sense of being answerable for the Body and Blood.
