The Body as an Instrument of Grace
The body is not an obstacle to holiness, but a vessel through which one may attain freedom from passion and insight into the Creator.
Those who feed the flesh badly and care for it only to satisfy its desires should not blame the flesh but themselves; for those who, through this very body, have attained freedom from the soul’s passions and gained some measure of insight into created realities know the Creator’s grace.
