VISIO DECIMA, cap. XXXV

The Witnesses Raised and the Enemy Enraged

After Enoch and Elias die at the hands of the son of perdition, their resurrection and lifting up into the clouds will turn the enemy's joy into terror and confirm the reality of the general resurrection.

But after Enoch and Elias have undergone bodily death through the son of perdition, his followers will rejoice greatly because they will see that they have perished; but then, when the spirit of life raises them up and lifts them on high into the clouds, their joy will turn into fear and sorrow and great astonishment. For through the resurrection and lifting up of these two, I the Almighty will prove that the resurrection and life of the dead cannot be contradicted by any objection from unbelievers; but on that day, when the elements by which humanity sinned are purified, humanity too will be raised from death and restored through the repentance that pleases God to a greater glory than when it was first created. For just as every human frame is moved by repentance, so too heaven itself is moved by the mournful voice of repentance, and God is praised with the cherubim with all one's heart.

The Serpent's Boast and the Son of Perdition's Ambition

The ancient serpent, enraged by the resurrection of the two witnesses, will raise up the son of perdition to reclaim his throne and attempt to ascend above the heavens in order to destroy the memory of God and the Catholic faith.

Then the ancient serpent, because of their resurrection, will be roused to the greatest fury, and he will lead the lost one into that estimation so that he may take possession of his throne from which he was cast out, so that through this the resurrection of the aforementioned men and the memory of the Son of God may be completely wiped out among humanity. And he will say to himself: 'In this son of mine I will now wage a greater battle than I once waged in heaven, and I will accomplish my every will through him, and neither God nor human will be able to resist this will of mine, and I know and am certain that I cannot be overcome.' And so I will be victorious in all things. And then the same son of perdition will gather a crowd of people so they may openly witness his glory when he attempts to go above the heavens, so that whatever of the Catholic faith has remained unshaken in the Church may completely waste away through his ascent.

The Breath of the Lord's Mouth Brings Down the Wicked One

As the son of perdition commands the heavens to receive him before a watching crowd, the words of Paul are fulfilled: the Lord Jesus will destroy him with the breath of his mouth, and the onlookers will be converted to the true faith.

But when, with the people standing by and listening, he commands the higher elements to receive him as he goes up to heaven, the words of my faithful Paul will be fulfilled, which he speaks filled with the true spirit: That the wicked one, in his own presumption revealed while a crowd of people stands by and listens, once he has commanded the higher elements to receive him as he ascends into heaven, will be destroyed by the breath of the mouth of the Lord Jesus, according to the testimony of the Apostle, and that seeing these things they will be converted to the true faith, abandoning error, and so the whole exaltation of the devil will be brought down.
