¶ Blasphemy againste the holye Ghoste.
The Unpardonable Sin Defined
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the malicious rejection of known truth, and the Lord declares it unpardonable.
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is when a person, out of malice and stubbornness of mind, rails against the truth of God's word—clearly perceived—and, being an enemy to it, persecutes that same truth.✦ And because such people are under God's curse, they entangle themselves in a most grievous and heinous crime; for that reason this kind of sin is called and affirmed by the Lord to be unpardonable.
