Vita Wenceslai (Legenda Gumpoldi)
Heavenly Foreknowledge
The young Wenceslaus, instructed by heavenly foreknowledge, is said to have foreseen human events and foreshadowed coming misfortunes through the faith of close friends.
We do not think it should be kept hidden, moreover, the generous intention of those who truly love, since through the honorable recounting of certain people the young man—now instructed by heavenly foreknowledge of things to come—is understood to have foreseen frequent events concerning human affairs and often to have foreshadowed, through the faith of close friends, the terrors of new misfortunes (we have experienced this ourselves).
The Nocturnal Vision of Priest Paul
In a divinely sent night vision, the atrium of a priest Paul appeared emptied of all ornament under the radiant gaze of the holy Wenceslaus.

Cuius doni memorabilis gloriosam inter tot miraculorum praeconia mentionem, scribentis non reticet humillima devotio; quia divinitus aperta visione, noctis conticinio, forte cuiusdam atrium presbiteri Pauli, quod amoenis et vastis aedium munitur ambitibus, sub sancti deoque pleni Vencezlavi clarissimo obtutu, omni moenium cultu desertum et humanae passionis habitacione omnino comparuit alienum. Quod videlicet ipse, pulsa somni car- nalis gravitate, cordis speculatione pervigilis excitatus, quisdam, quae visa sunt, prudenti sermone innotescens, subindeque quid verius futurum edita iam pronunciasset ostensio, prophetanti ore edisserens, convocatos huiusmodi dictis alloquitur:
