Quattordicesima Stazione: Gesù è sepolto

The Burial of the Lord

The faithful contemplate the burial of Jesus and look forward to the hope of the Resurrection.

We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you, because by your holy Cross you have redeemed the world. Think of how the disciples carried Jesus, already dead, to be buried, still accompanied by his holy Mother, who laid him in the tomb with her own hands. Then they closed the tomb and all went away. Ah! My Jesus, buried, I kiss this stone that enclosed you. But from there, after three days, you rose again; I beg you, by your Resurrection, to make me rise on the last day with you in glory, so that I may come to remain forever united with you in heaven, to praise you and love you forever.

A Prayer of Love and Repentance

A concluding prayer expressing deep love, contrition, and a desire for eternal union with Christ.

I love you, my Jesus, more than myself; with all my heart I repent of having offended you. Forgive me, and do not let me be separated from you. Grant that I may always love you, and then do with me as you please.
