The Divine Origin of Scripture
The Scriptures are established as holy and divine because they were authored by the Holy Spirit through human servants and preserved by God's command.
We confess that this Word of God wasn't sent or delivered by human will; rather, God's holy servants spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, just as Saint Peter says. Afterward, because of our God's special care for us and for our salvation, he commanded his servants, the Prophets and Apostles, to put his revealed words into writing; and he himself wrote the two tablets of the Law with his own finger.1 For this reason, we call these writings the holy and divine Scriptures.

Nous confessons que cette Parole de Dieu n'a point été envoyée ni apportée par volonté humaine: mais les saints hommes de Dieu ont parlé étant poussés du Saint-Esprit, comme dit saint Pierre. Puis après, par le soin singulier que notre Dieu a de nous et de notre salut, il a commandé à ses serviteurs les Prophètes et Apôtres de rédiger ses oracles par écrit: et lui-même a écrit de son doigt les deux Tables de la Loi. Pour cette cause, nous appelons tels écrits: Écritures saintes et divines.
