The Gift of Private Absolution
The churches should retain private absolution, even though no one can fully enumerate their sins before God.
Regarding confession, they teach that private absolution should be kept in the churches, even though in confession it is not necessary to enumerate every sin. For according to the Psalm it is impossible: Who can understand their sins?1

De Confessione docent, quod absolutio privata in Ecclesiis retinenda sit, quanquam in confessione non sit necessaria omnium delictorum enumeratio. Est enim impossibilis iuxta Psalmum, Delicta quis intelligit?
